About This Venue
Pompallier Tennis Club is named after Jean Baptiste Francois Pompallier, the first Catholic Bishop of Auckland. Tennis and croquet were played at the current site since the early 1900s as the St Marys Catholic Tennis Club and Ponsonby Catholic Tennis Club. Pompallier was formed in 1965 and had its inaugural opening on the 10th of October in the same year.
Pompallier Tennis Club is one of the best tennis venues in town. Located on College Hill, near Ponsonby, it’s five minutes’ drive from the City, on the Link bus route, or an easy walk up from Victoria Park.
